Today the second expedition to Fleming Glacier started. The expedition team (Jens Wendt, Claudio Bravo and Marcos Rodriguez) traveled in a C-130 “Hercules” of the Brazilian Air Force from Punta Arenas to the Chilean airport Teniente March, King George Island. Climate conditions permitting they will go on to Rothera (BAS) station on Adelaide Island with two Twin Otters of the Chilean Air Force. It is planned to undertake a reconnaissance flight with airborne laser measurements to Fleming Glacier before leaving the team there for a two-weeks field program.
