The Automatic Weather Station (AWS) with the GPS antena on top was found with only 20 cm sticking out of the snow. This is an impressive evidence of the high amount of snow accumulation since the installation of the more than 4 m high tower one year ago. The station had to be dug out quickly before being covered completely by the next snow fall. The first-year data could be downloaded with more than 300 days of meteorological data and 75 days of GPS measurements proving the success of the campaign. The GPS station has been mounted and currently the team is working on the re-installation of the AWS with a height sufficient to resist the high accumulation. The team is finishing its mission and they are preparing to be evacuated in the coming days.
